Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander and defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson are leaving the team to become teammates somewhere else this Winter.

William Nylander is one of the best offensive players in the NHL, and last season, he got to represent his country at the 4 Nations Face-Off with Sweden.
Going into this season, it was all but confirmed that he would be back with Team Sweden for the Olympic Games, which are set to go down next month.
A couple of days ago, Team Canada unveiled its roster, which didn't contain a single Toronto Maple Leafs star. Team USA unveiled its own roster this morning, with just one Leaf in Auston Matthews.
Just moments ago, Team Sweden unveiled its Olympic roster, and as you can guess, Nylander made the cut. However, there was also a big surprise from the Maple Leafs.

Team Sweden unveils its Olympic roster

Joining Nylander in Italy will be none other than defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson, whose torrid start to the season is a huge reason why he made the team.
He has 25 points in 40 games this season, and he even had a goal and an assist last night in a 6-5 win against the Winnipeg Jets. Needless to say, he's been a stud.
Nylander has 41 points in 33 games, and that includes a pretty significant slump during the month of December. It just goes to show that the forward is deserving of his spot.
Team Sweden doesn't have too many surprises, although the addition of Pontus Holmberg is definitely going to raise a few eyebrows for Leafs fans and others in the hockey world.
It looks like Sweden is going to be one of the teams to beat, although compared to the Team Canada roster, it's hard to imagine them getting the Gold.
Going into the Olympics, it is going to be fascinating to see how this Team Sweden roster does, and which Maple Leafs star has the best Olympic tournament.
