Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander went down awkwardly against the Ottawa Senators, and it forced him to leave the game early.

The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Ottawa Senators are in the midst of a highly contested game. The Leafs are up 6-4 in the middle of the third period. Unfortunately, the game just got harder.
Below, you can see that Leafs forward William Nylander got tangled up on the side of the net, and as a result, the forward had to leave the game.
It was just announced by the Maple Leafs that Nylander will not return for the rest of the game. The Leafs will now have to play without one of their best offensive contributors.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have lost a few players to injury this season, and Nylander is someone that the team cannot afford to lose right now.
While Nylander had been struggling lately, he has been having himself a better time. He had four points against the Penguins last week and had a goal tonight against Ottawa.
He is the kind of explosive offensive player that the Maple Leafs are in desperate need of right now, and losing him would be disastrous.
Of course, there is no telling what is wrong with the forward right now. There is still a good chance that he returns tomorrow against the Detroit Red Wings.
Unfortunately, with the exceptionally short turnaround, there is a chance that the Leafs exercise caution and keep Nylander out tomorrow.
This is merely speculation. For now, the fans are just going to have to sit tight and wait for Craig Berube to give an update after the game.
For now, the focus is going to have to be on closing out the Senators, in what has become an offensive and tight game.
