Utah Hockey Club Officially Chooses a Team Name

The Utah Hockey Club is in its first season in the NHL and fans have been waiting to find out what the nickname will be following the downfall of "Yeti."
The Arizona Coyotes could not keep up the charade and were eventually forced to relocate to Utah this summer after years of financial issues.
For their inaugural season, the franchise was simply called the Utah hockey Club although the team is currently holding a vote with the fans to decide what to be called next.
Originally, the team was going to be called the "Yeti" but it was revealed that this would be breaking various copyright laws and now, the team must go by a different name.
Utah Hockey Club continues to make waves in the NHL
There are various different options right now including the current name, the Utah Mammoth, the Utah Outlaws, and some other names that aren't nearly as good.
According to reporter Dennis Dodd, the franchise has officially chosen a nickname although unfortunately, they have no timeline to reveal what the name is going to be.
One has to imagine we are going to find out after the season is over. Perhaps it will only be revealed after the Stanley Cup Finals.

Whatever the case may be, there is no doubt that the Utah experiment has been a relative success thus far.
Fans have been packing the arena so far and the atmosphere of the games has been impressive, to say the very least.
Only time will tell whether or not this is going to continue and if the new nickname fits Salt Lake City perfectly.
In the meantime, we cannot wait to see how this NHL season concludes as some exceptional hockey has been played thus far.
