NHL Insider Reports a Massive Change in Vancouver Canucks Plans for JT Miller and Elias Pettersson

Elias Pettersson has been one of the most discussed players in hockey this year as his feud with JT Miller continues to dominate the narrative around the Vancouver Canucks.

For months now it has seemed like one of the two players would be traded but we are still waiting for that move.

All signs have pointed to it being JT Miller that gets dealt.

For example, former NHLer Paul Bissonnette recently stated that Miller has privately requested a trade from the Canucks.

Furthermore, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman also noted that he believes Pettersson has told the team he wants to stay.

Pettersson is clearly the better long-term solution as he is both younger and a less controversial player.

After all, this drama seems to be stemming more from Miller than it has from Pettersson.

That being said, the Canucks may end up dealing Pettersson anyways.

NHL insider Cam Robinson, who has been consistently reporting on this issue, revealed today that the team is unhappy with the offers they have gotten for Miller and thus they may circle back on Pettersson.

This would almost certainly be the worst move the team could make and Canucks fans know it.

One fan pointed to the fact that the trade market values Miller less than Pettersson.

To most general managers, this would indicate that maybe the player you should keep would be the more valuable one!

Not to mention the impact a Pettersson trade could have on the rest of the team.

Would it really resolve the locker room issues? If Miller is the one causing it, one could see how things wouldn't improve much after a Pettersson trade.
