Vancouver Canucks President Jim Rutherford made some huge comments about the Hughes' on Monday, but reportedly, the NHL aren't set to do anything about it.
He said before he wants to play with his brothers, and that would be partly out of our control; in our control if we brought his brothers here. So, there's many moving parts here; I agree 100% that this franchise cannot afford to lose a guy like Quinn Hughes.
And we will do everything we can to keep him here, but at the end of the day, it'll be his decision....well we gotta be careful with tampering here, so we'll just leave it at that.
Unsurprisingly, this led to calls from fans to the NHL to get involved with a potential tampering charge, although others certainly believed that possibility was well overblown.
Now, the latter has been confirmed, as reporter Rick Dhaliwal has confirmed that the league have no intention of looking into potential tampering charges for Rutherford, who didn't say anything that could lead to such a charge.
Given the talent of both Luke and Jack, it's no shock that Rutherford want them in Vancouver long-term with Quinn, as it would be a great way to keep their captain happy long-term, and while it's certainly understandable, it's not realistic, and this is likely the best outcome from the NHL relating to the tampering, with Rutherford not saying anything worthy of a fine.
