The Vancouver Canucks saw star centre Elias Pettersson recently go down with injury, and now they've revealed that he'll miss some time as a result, with the team suffering another major blow to their post-season hopes.
A Wild Card spot in the Western Conference appears to be slowly slipping away from the Vancouver Canucks in 2025, and now they've suffered yet another blow to their Stanley Cup Playoff hopes and dreams.
In their last game, star centre Elias Pettersson went down with what appeared to be an upper-body injury, with speculation revealing that it could mean a significant stint on the sidelines for EP40.
Now, that has officially been confirmed, as insider Mike Morreale has revealed that Pettersson will miss at least the next four games, and with the Canucks five points back of the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference, that could all but end their season.
As Morreale notes, it's an undisclosed injury at this point in time, but with the way Pettersson limped off the ice, many have speculated that it could have been a back or an oblique injury, with Dr. Harjas Grewal also noting on social media that it could have been something to do with his history of wrist injuries too.
That's a brutal blow for the Canucks hopes, and unless they can cause some major upsets without their top star with games upcoming against the Devils, Jets, Avalanche and Stars, we may very well be looking at the end of the teams hopes for 2024/25.
