The Vancouver Canucks post-season odds are going down, and now, they've suffered some more as they've seemingly lost one of their top centres for the year.

This season began full of hope in Vancouver, but thus far it's been a major let down for the team, and with the Stanley Cup Playoffs drifting ever further from their grasp, the fans are losing hope quickly.
Unfortunately, they've been dealt another major blow, as Head Coach Rick Tocchet has confirmed a loss than many have believed has been coming for quite some time.
On Tuesday, Tocchet all but confirmed that centre Filip Chytil, who has been out of the lineup for some time will miss the remainder of the season, noting that the 'odds are against him' for a return some time in 2024/25.
That's likely the best decision for Vancouver and Chytil himself, who has already dealt with five concussions thus far in his professional career, and at 25-years of age, that's something that the team shouldn't be taking lightly.
This all comes with superstar Elias Pettersson also being sidelined with an injury, and as he is considered day-to-day, it's unclear when he'll be back, making things even tougher for the Canucks.
While they aren't officially eliminated yet, Vancouver are seven points back of the nearest Wild Card spot, and given the way that they've played as of late (five losses in their past eight games), this may be the final nail in the coffin on their 2024/25 hopes and dreams.
As for Chytil, this is another tough break for a player that's played in 65 or more games in less than half of the seasons he's been in the NHL thus far, so the hope is that he can use this time away and the off-season to get healthy so that one day, he can fulfil his potential in the NHL.
