Alex Pietrangelo of the Vegas Golden Knights is earning a reputation he'd rather not have. Fans are livid after the defenceman dished out another two-handed, lumberjack style slash to an opponent in Vegas's latest game.

Pietrangelo and the Golden Knights took on the Seattle Kraken in the NHL's Winter Classic on New Year's Day. With just six seconds left in the third period, and his team losing 3-0, Pietrangelo hit Seattle's Brandon Tanev with a brutal two-hander.

During a playoff series against the Edmonton Oilers last season, Pietrangelo pulled off a very similar move against Leon Draisaitl, slashing the Oiler across the arm.

Pietrangelo's latest slash brought a flood of negative posts on social media.

"Alex Pietrangelo taking a huge two-hand slash at an opponent at the end of a game that his team is losing? No way, get outta here."

"Maybe if the NHL had suspended Pietrangelo properly in the playoffs, he wouldn't be out there attempting to injure with his signature lumberjack chop move again?"

"Pietrangelo is a piece of s--t."

Again, this is not the type of play that Pietrangelo wants to be known for. However, he has no one to blame on this one but himself.
