Eichel's last game was Thursday when the Golden Knights played the Boston Bruins, winning 2-1 in overtime. Eichel was out there for the entire game, even assisting on the OT winner, but spent about 14 minutes straight on Vegas's bench in the second period without touching the ice. It was later announced that he would miss Saturday's game against the Calgary Flames as well. So, just how long will Eichel be on the sidelines? According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, while there is no official timeline yet, the Golden Knights' are definitely concerned.
Last season, Eichel played 67 games, the most since the 2019-20 season. He had already completed 42 games this season, with the hopes that he might play all 82, or close to it for the first time in a while. Eichel was doing well, with 19 goals and 44 points so far in 2023-24. CBS Sports says Eichel will be out until at least the 20th of this month. How long it's going to go after that isn't clear at the moment, but it sounds as though the Golden Knights are worried about not getting good news.
