Vegas Golden Knights fleece New Jersey Devils
The Vegas Golden Knights made some big news on Saturday, sending Logan Thompson to the Washington Capitals and have now found a replacement for him.
According to TSN's Pierre LeBrun, the Golden Knights have acquired goaltender Akira Schmid and former first-round pick Alexander Holtz from the Devils in exchange for Paul Cotter and a 2025 third-round pick.
"Devils have acquired F Paul Cotter and Vegas third in 2025 for Alexander Holtz and Akira Schmid" LeBrun said.
Schmid, 22, appeared in 19 games for the Devils this season where he had a record of 5-9-1 with a 3.15 goals against average, and an .895 save percentage.
Holtz, 22, was the Devils' seventh overall pick in 2020. He put up 28 points (16 goals, 12 assists), 14 penalty minutes and was a minus-15 in 82 games for the Devils this past season.
Cotter, 24, appeared in 76 games for Vegas in 2023-24, putting up 25 points (seven goals, 18 assists), 41 penalty minutes and was a minus-11.
More to come.
