Josh Anderson Delivers Big Message to Tom Wilson in Fiery Moment
The Stanley Cup Playoffs are in full swing for the Washington Capitals and Montreal Canadiens, and Tom Wilson is doing what he does best - getting under the skin of his opponents.
For the 1st time since 2010, the Washington Capitals and Montreal Canadiens are meeting one another in the postseason; the opening game went Washington's way thanks to a 2-goal performance from Alex Ovechkin (including his 1st career postseason OT GWG).
With Game 2 underway tonight from Capital One Arena in Washington DC, Capitals forward Tom Wilson continues to do what he does best - agitate the opposition and goad them into careless penalties.
Montreal forward
Josh Anderson had enough of Wilson and cross-checked him to the ice just moments after hitting him from behind, resulting in his being hit with a 2-minute minor.
Somehow, Wilson also ended up with a minor penalty after continuing to jaw with the Habs.
Earlier in the period, Wilson had been throwing his weight around and leveled forward
Cole Caufield:
One option that Canadiens coach Martin St. Louis has at his disposal is bruising defenseman
Arber Xhekaj, who has been a healthy scratch through the 1st pair of games.
Following yesterday's practice, St. Louis indicated that playing Xhekaj at some point in the series
is an option.
I know [what] you guys are just trying to get me to answer. I don't know. I have Xhekaj. It's a card. I might play him. I don't know yet. But, you know, it's good to have.
Should Tom Wilson continue to be a physical force for the Capitals, the Canadiens could choose to counter him by inserting Xhekaj into the lineup for Game 3 later this week.
