Pierre-Luc Dubois has had an interesting career thus far, between forcing his way out of the Columbus Blue Jackets organization to now trying to force his way out of the Winnipeg Jets organization as well.
According to David Pagnotta of the Fourth Period, a Dubois trade that would send him to the Los Angeles Kings is close to being done; the haul the Jets would get in return would be astronomical, take a look.
All eyes on the #GoKingsGo as they try to get to the finish line with the #GoJetsGo to acquire Pierre-Luc Dubois. Multiple players/pieces would be going to Winnipeg if this gets done, including Gabe Vilardi and Alex Iafallo, and an extension for PLD would be expected.
The Kings have been rumoured to be in on Dubois for some time, the assets they would have to give up is certainly a big price. Gabe Vilardi is their best prospect who's proven he can play in the National Hockey League and Alex Iafallo has been an integral part of the Kings team. If there are draft picks on top of that as well, that would be a massive price to pay.
Dubois, 25, played in 73 games for the Jets this season, scoring 27 goals and adding 36 assists for a total of 63 points.
For a guy that hasn't even cracked 65 points in a season and knowing his contract demands, this would be a mistake If the Kings were to make this trade and that be the return.
Update: The Kings have been given permission to speak to Dubois about an extension according to The Athletic
