2023 draft prospect Leo Carlsson has hilarious response when asked about Columbus Blue Jackets
The National Hockey League has been holding their annual Draft Combine in Buffalo, New York, in recent days and on Saturday, several prospects met with the media including Swedish forward Leo Carlsson.
Carlsson, 18, is projected to go in the top-five during the NHL's Entry Draft later this month and he was asked by a reporter what he knew about Columbus, who is picking third overall. Carlsson proceeded to give a pretty funny answer after he seemingly didn't know much about Columbus.
"Well, I know where it is on a map." Carlsson said.
The Karlstad native had a very good year for a player of his age in the Swedish Hockey League. In 44 games with Orebro HK, Carlsson had 25 points (ten goals, 15 assists), six penalty minutes and was a minus-five. He went on to add nine points in 13 playoff games.
There's a very good chance that Leo Carlsson will end up with the Columbus Blue Jackets at third overall, who are reportedly wanting to take a centerman. But they also may have their eyes on Will Smith of the US National Team Development Program.
If Carlsson happens to be selected by the Blue Jackets, we'll all be looking back at this moment from the Draft Combine in a few years and chuckling quite a bit.
