With the draft lottery being held just a few short days ago and the Chicago Blackhawks being awarded the first overall pick in this year's National Hockey League entry draft. A lot was circulating about how the draft lottery was fixed to favour the Hawks.

Now according to Sporstnet's Elliotte Friedman, high-ranking executives from across the league believe that the draft lottery was rigged; take a look:

Friedman says he was shocked at the amount of uproar the draft lottery caused and that it wasn't typical fan outrage. To have high-level people in organizations following suit is concerning, to say the least.

Friedman maintains that it's his belief the draft lottery was, in fact, not fixed at all.

At this point, nothing would surprise me when it comes to the NHL. The fact that organizations are speaking out, and it's not just a fan theory anymore, says something.

Will this cause the NHL to look into the draft lottery? Probably not, but this confirms what we already know, the NHL isn't as innocent as they make themselves out to be.
