The Pittsburgh Penguins' President of Hockey Operations Kyle Dubas provided official comments on Sidney Crosby's 4 Nations Face-Off status in an interview with The Athletic.
Yesterday, the Pittsburgh Penguins were in Philadelphia to face the Flyers without their captain, Sidney Crosby, sidelined with an injury.
The Pens' leader was hurt in a game against the New Jersey Devils and has missed the last two games.
His head coach, Mike Sullivan, offered comments yesterday, saying he skated that morning and felt much better than he did a day before-an encouraging sign.
In his own words:
"He skated for a long time this morning. He felt significantly better today than he did yesterday, and that's really encouraging."
Later, general manager and President of Hockey Operations of the team, Kyle Dubas, provided further comments about Crosby's injury, notably talking about his status ahead of the long-awaited 4 Nations Face-Off, set to go down in Montreal next week.
Dubas' input is key, considering his role in Team Canada's management in addition to his job with the Penguins.
He revealed that the team will work with Crosby to make the best decision for his interest and confirmed he wants to give him as much time and consideration to determine what will happen next.
"He is a special player and person. He deserves as much time and consideration as possible to determine what the best course of action is. Every day is a new day."
Even though Scheifele has been having a great season with the Winnipeg Jets, he's no Sidney Crosby, especially in a tournament where every game matters.
