10-year-olds hockey game breaks down into wild scrum after the whistle
Post whistle scrums are a common part of playoff hockey. Even during the regular season we often see extra curricular after the whistle, but we don't often see it during games featuring 9 and 10 year olds. But that's exactly what happened during this game.
After the goaltender makes the save, the player in white pokes at the puck. This clearly upset the opposing team because before you know it both teams and wildly throwing punches at helmets.
The officials stand by as multiple scrums breakout, until finally the referee has had enough and scoops one of the players up off of the ice into his arms.
Multiple penalties were handed out on the play, and it's reported the game finished without incident.
