It's a busy time of year in the National Hockey League with the trade deadline just over one day away. This means that today, March 7th, is an important day on the waiver wire.
Today marks the final day that players can be placed on waivers and be playoff eligible with the team they're claimed by.
According to Chris Johnston, a total of seven players have been placed on the waiver wire for Thursday, March 8th for the purpose of being assigned to the American Hockey League.
In other related news, the Nashville Predators have claimed forward Jaret Anderson-Dolan off waivers from the Los Angeles Kings, while the other three names on the wire yesterday - Ryan Johansen (Philadelphia), Jacob Moverare (Los Angeles) and Will Lockwood (Florida) have cleared.
"Nashville claims Jaret Anderson-Dolan off waivers from Los Angeles.
Ryan Johansen (PHI) clears waivers and will be assigned to AHL Lehigh Valley.
Will Lockwood (FLA) and Jacob Moverare (LA) also clear waivers."
If any of the players on the waiver wire on Thursday afternoon clear at 2 p.m. ET on Friday, they'll be assigned to their team's respective American Hockey League affiliate.
