For almost every hockey player, the ultimate goal is to play in the NHL. However, the path to doing so is different for every player. For some that means being drafted out of junior, while others are forced to play professional hockey in other leagues before making it to the NHL.
The latter is the path taken by Maxim Tsyplakov, who currently plays for Spartak of the KHL. This season has been the best season or Tsyplakov's career as he has put up 22 goals and 10 assists in 48 games. According to Tsyplakov's agent, there are currently four interested teams in talks for his clients services.
The 25-year-old is described as a player who plays with speed, can play all three forward positions, while being best on the wing. Tsyplakov is 6'3 and 200 lbs. who likes to throw his weight around and loves to shoot. He plays in all situations, including killing penalties. At the NHL level Tsyplakov likely projects as a bottom 6 power forward.
