The Jakob Chychrun sweepstakes are in full swing, with the Arizona Coyotes just releasing their asking price for the star defender. The teams that are still in the mix for the 24 year old blue-liner might surprise you though.
According to Craig Morgan of Phoenix Sports there are 6 teams still vying for the services of Chychrun.
The Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins, Florida Panthers, Los Angeles Kings, Ottawa Senators and Edmonton Oilers are still interested in Chychrun, albeit I doubt all but one of those teams actually has the cap space to take him away from Florida.
The Coyotes have made it clear, Chychrun won't move unless it's for 2 firsts, and a second or a good prospect. For all the teams listed above except for the Ottawa Senators, they don't have the capital or assets they're comfortable parting with.
I can see one of three things happening: either, the Coyotes lower the asking price by a smidge to allow competitor teams to negotiate a deal, Chychrun goes to Ottawa or, there's a 3 team deal that will allow cap relief for a contending team to bring him in.
At this rate though, it looks like Coyotes are hell bent on keeping him as part of their team, that asking price is not indicative of a team that wants to part with their star player.
