8 players ejected and 120 penalty minutes given out before the puck is even dropped during AHL line brawl
Line brawls are usually a thing of the past, but last night the San Jose Barracudas and Tucson Roadrunners turned back the clock. The two teams are not fans of one another, and it shows. Last night the two teams met in a late night AHL game, and it didn't take long for things to escalate.
The two teams didn't even wait until the puck was dropped. As the two teams approached center ice for the opening faceoff, the two centers immediately begin to push and shove. That's all anyone needed for things to kick off and within seconds all 5 skaters are fully engaged.
The two teams ends up accounting for 8 ejections and 120 penalty minutes before the puck even dropped.
Somehow the rest of the game didn't feature any other fights and the Roadrunners went onto win the game 4-3 in a shootout. We'll definitely mark these two teams next games on our calendar.
