9-year-old Maple Leafs fan tells Matt Murray to his face that he sucks after he's pulled from the game
There is an old saying that "kids say the darndest things" and this is a perfect example of that. When the Toronto Maple Leafs faced off against the Florida Panthers on January 17th, Matt Murray had the worst game of his Maple Leafs career.
Murray gave up four goals on only eight shots before being pulled from the game in favor of Ilya Samsonov. After the difficult start, Samsonov came into the second period and shut the Panthers down. As the Leafs were leaving the ice they were greeted by a young fan who wanted to express his feelings for the team.
After sharing how much he loves Samsonov, the fan greeted all the Maple Leafs except for one, Matt Murray.
You could tell the cousin in the video that they were absolutely mortified by their son's comments. The Maple Leafs came back and won the game 5-4 in overtime and Murray has since lost the starting job to Samsonov, so maybe the kid has a point.
