Hockey is a sport and the National Hockey League is a business, players get paid millions and millions of dollars to play, but sometimes things happen in life to make all of that meaningless. According to the Vegas Golden Knights Twitter account defender Alex Pietrangelo had been given an indefinite leave of absent due to an illness in the family.
Alex Pietrangelo is away from the team and will remain so indefinitely due to an illness in the family.

The Vegas Golden Knights wholeheartedly support Alex and the Pietrangelos and ask that the family's privacy be respected at this time.
Family comes first always, no matter the job. I hope that everything turns out okay for Pietrangelo and his family during what must be an immensely difficult time.
Our thoughts and prayers remain with Pietrangelo at this time.
