The NHL's media rules require coaches to be available after every game. That rule doesn't stipulate how many questions they answer. After last night's game Jon Cooper arrived to his availability, gave one statement and left.

My heart breaks for the players, because we probably still should be playing.

Wednesday night the Colorado Avalanche took a commanding 3-1 series lead on Nazem Kadri's overtime winning goal. After the game, Tampa Bay Lightning coach Jon Cooper was asked about the overtime winner. That was the only questions he took before walking out. He didn't think the overtime goal should have counted.

You're going to see what I mean when you see the winning goal.

Jon Cooper didn't say exactly what he disagreed with, but he was visibly upset. He was already talking like a coach that lost the series. After Cooper left some people did some digging to figure out what could have been controversial about the goal. The witch hunt revealed that the Colorado Avalanche may have had too many men on the ice when Kadri had possession of the puck and was driving the net.
