Anaheim Ducks forward scores one of the best and worst own goals of all time
The Anaheim Ducks appear to be destined to be part of the Connor Bedard Sweepstake. Despite hopes the team would take a leap forward that appears to not be the case right now. During last night's game an embarrassing own goal has taken the highlight reel by storm.
As the Timo Meier carries the puck into the Anaheim zone, he makes a move on Jakob Silfverberg. In an attempt to defend, Silfverberg shoots the puck away and unfortunately for him right on net.
Silfverberg's perfectly placed shot unfortunately beats Ducks' goaltender Anthony Stolarz. The own goal tied the game at 4 late in the 2nd period. The Ducks would ultimately win the game 6-5 in a shootout, so no harm no foul.
