Angry father rips open the rink door to yell at a 12-year-old referee
Every single day it gets more difficult to find young referees to get involved in the sport of hockey. More often than not these kids absorb abuse from parents who are unhappy with how they're officiating the game. It's amazing that some parents aren't able to understand that it's children who are reffing these games.
In this example not only is a 12-year-old referee yelled at, but an enraged parent actually opens a gate on the ice to yell at the young referee. This event happened during a game for under 10 players and there is zero reason anyone should ever be this upset at a U10 game.
This video was shared on Reddit by the boy's father who wanted to call out the angry parent.
At the end of the video another father yells at the other man, but hopefully there were further repercussions for this individual.
