The Tampa Bay Lightning are now down 2-0 to the New York Rangers and the frustration is starting to show. In the third period the Lightning players took every chance they could to get an extra shot at a Rangers player. But one stood out as blatantly dirty.
As Ryan Strome was trying to knock the puck into the Lightning end, Anthony Cirelli hit Strome from behind into the boards. Then as the camera was about to pan away, it caught Cirelli cross checking Strome back into the boards while Strome was still on his knees.
It was an ugly play as Strome looked to go into the boards awkwardly. He looked to go limp for a bit before gingerly going to the bench. Of course there was no penalty called on the play. We'll have to wait and see if the NHL Department of Player Safety does anything about this.
