Depending on how NHL teams decide to use their rookies, most are past or coming up on the 9 game threshold where teams have to decide wether or not players that are still eligible to play in junior stay with the big club all year long.
The Arizona Coyotes let rookie Dylan Guenther know he would be staying with the big club in one of the most heartwarming ways ever.
Guenther, 19, had shown well in 9 games this year, tallying 2 goals and 4 assists for 6 points with the Yotes.
I love things like this, the human element to letting someone know that all of their hard work has payed off. What a gesture by the Coyotes.
Arizona is starved for talent and Guenther is a great up and coming player that could be a cornerstone of the franchise for years to come if they develop him properly.
For everything that the Coyotes are, including how we laugh at their situation, hopefully they can turn things around.
