When it comes to the Arizona Coyotes it is surprising to many how committee Gary Bettman has been to the market. Despite all the evidence available that the market is not viable, Bettman refuses to acknowledge it. The Coyotes have been the NHL's resident basement dwellers for many years and have seemed to be rebuilding ever since Shane Doan was in his prime.
After having their lease agreement ended by Gila River Arena after not being able to pay their bills on time and having embarrassing attendance stats. The Coyotes will play their home games at Arizona State University in a 3,500 seat venue that the Coyotes will likely not sell out in either.
The Coyotes decided to try and get their fans excited by showing off how their new home is looking, and needless to say it's embarrassing. This Arena was built and meant to be used by the Arizona State University team not an NHL franchise.
There's no upper bowl. It's just a dozen or so rows in the lower bowl and then some sub-standard suites that are not even up to the standards of many Canadian Hockey League teams. Here are some photos the Arizona Coyotes shared check it out.
Now just as an example here is the Budweiser Gardens in London, Ontario. This is the home of the CHL's team the London Knights. Seating for the Knights games is sold out 99% of the time at 9,200 seats, which is more than double that of the Coyotes.
