It's the exact words the Islanders organization and their fans did not want to hear. Bo Horvat is not interested in a new contract currently. Isn't this something the organization should have confronted him about before giving up quite a bit for the center? The Islanders will still greatly appreciate having Horvat in the lineup down the stretch as the Islanders try to get into playoff position. However, their future with Horvat will have to wait.
This has to be concerning news for the organization. They just paid a steep price for potentially a rented hockey player. Perhaps this is Lou Lamariello's final attempt to get this team out of the mediocrity they've been in the last year and a half. If his plan doesn't workout here it could be the final straw for Lou on Long Island.
It just seems like this scenario is not going to end well for the Islanders. There out of a playoff position right now, Horvat just announced he's not interested in a contract negotiation, and even if they make the playoffs it's not likely they go very far. Now an already aged roster just traded away future assets for what seems to be only a temporary solution.
