Brad Marchand speaks out and calls an NHL city 'suspect'
Boston Bruins superstar forward Brad Marchand will go down as one of the most colorful characters in the NHL of the last 20 years. He has never been shy to say what's on his mind. In this day in age when professional athletes are used to being so cookie cutter in the mainstream, Marchand goes against all of that thinking.
In a recent interview with Greg Wyshynski of ESPN, Marchand addressed the comment he made regarding the 2025 All-Star Game potentially going to Edmonton, Detroit or Seattle.
Marchand explained that his comments were intended as a joke and not to be taken seriously, but he does see a «little bit of truth» in his thoughts that players would not want to go to these cities during their break because of the harsh winter weather.
He apologized to Edmonton but didn't show the same love for the city of Detroit saying its "suspect".
The 34 year old is having another solid season, to build on his Hall of Fame career. In 54 games he has scored 19 goals and 54 points.
Marchand will get an up and close experience with the Detroit fans when his Bruins play Detroit on the back end of a home and home with the Red Wings on Sunday. He is sure to hear the boos from the fans but I am sure that will just roll off the back of the NHL's most colorful annoyance.
