Breaking News - NHL postpones 2 games
The NHL is closely monitoring the situation surrounding Winter Storm Elliott. The storm is currently battling the US Midwest and is expected to move towards the Eastern Seaboard today. With that storm the NHL has the difficult decision on whether or not to postpone games in interest in fan and player safety.
Yesterday the league made it official that they had postponed Friday's game between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Buffalo Sabres. Now the league has opted to postpone another game Friday night.
NHL Game No. 534 on Friday, Dec. 23 between the Detroit Red Wings and the Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Centre has been postponed, and rescheduled to Monday, Feb. 27 at 7:00 p.m. ET, due to severe winter weather expected to impact the area.
This is likely the right decision for the league to make at this time to keep everyone involved safe. To anyone impacted by this storm please stay safe this holiday season.
