Breaking News - Sam Gagner signs with a Western Conference Team
Rumors have circulated all throughout the summer that Sam Gagner would sign with a Canadian team. The most constant rumors saw Gagner return back to the Edmonton Oilers or signing with the Toronto Maple Leafs. The move to the Maple Leafs would have reunited Gagner with his best friend and business partner, John Tavares.
Now though, it's another Canadian team who has won Gagner's services. Today the Winnipeg Jets announced that they have officially signed Sam Gagner to a 1 year contract. The deal pays Gagner a league minimum $750,000.
Last season in a 4th line role with the Detroit Red Wings, Gagner played in 81 games. Scoring 13 goals and adding 18 assists. This was Gagner's most productive year since 2017-2018 with the Vancouver Canucks.
