Breaking News - Seattle Kraken demote Shane Wright
The Seattle Kraken have been putting on a masterclass in how to ruin a top prospect. After drafting Shane Wright 4th overall the Kraken have seemingly done everything possible to ruin his development. From leading him along during the preseason, to healthy scratching him for long stretches, the Kraken have managed to frustrate both Wright and his agents.
Now after sitting for 5 straight games Wright is eligible to be demoted to the American Hockey League for a one time conditioning stint. The conditioning stint can last up to 14-days and Wright must be recalled or demoted further to the Ontario Hockey League at that point.
#SeaKraken announce they've assigned Shane Wright to AHL Coachella Valley on a conditioning stint. He can stay there for a maximum of 14 days.
No one is sure what will happen with Wright once his conditioning stint is complete. The Kraken have stated they'd like for Wright to remain in the NHL for the entire year, but continuing to stunt his development seems like a poor option. It also seems like Wright will be loaned out for this year's World Juniors tournament in December.
