Buffalo Sabres and Anaheim Ducks make a late night trade
With NHL Training Camps set to begin in approximately 3 week, teams are working hard to finalize their rosters. As is always the case in mid to late August, teams turn away from the free agent market and turn their focus to finalizing their rosters via trade. That's exactly what the Anaheim Ducks did today.
Tonight in a late night trade the Anaheim Ducks and Buffalo Sabres completed a deal sending physical defender Ilya Lyubushkin to the Anaheim Ducks.
Frank Seravalli broke the following deal:
Trade: #NHLDucks acquire D Ilya Lyubushkin.
To Anaheim: Ilya Lyubushkin
To #Sabres: 2025 4th Rd Pick (MIN)
Anaheim had previously acquired that pick at the 2023 trade deadline for John Klingberg.
With this deal the Ducks defense gets much tougher and adds even more grit to a team who already added Radko Gudas.
