Calgary Flames head coach Daryl Sutter absolutely rips his teams depth, calls it bull****
The Calgary Flames are one of the contenders in the western conference in no small part because of Daryl Sutter and how he likes to run his teams historically. He's also not one to hold his tongue.
According to Wes Gilbertson of Post Media, Sutter isn't happy with the workload of his top 4 defensemen.
Asked #Flames coach Darryl Sutter this morning about the heavy workload for four defencemen — Rasmus Andersson, Noah Hanifin, MacKenzie Weegar and Nikita Zadorov. His response
It's too much. We've got guys, what did we play 'em last night, 23 to 27 (minutes)? That means those guys are doing everything they can and this depth stuff we talked about in the summer, it's a bunch of bullshit. There isn't one guy in training camp that even took a step towards being a sixth or seventh or eighth defenceman and we're playing them now. So it's time to ripen the apple a bit for them.
Sutter isn't one to mince words and he sure didn't hold back. Is it possible Flames management didn't address major needs in the off-season even though there was high praise surrounding it?
