In last night's game against the Boston Bruins, the Carolina Hurricanes broadcast shared a heartwarming story of fans sending well wishes to the injured Max Pacioretty. One Hurricanes fan purchased a team flag and set up shop in the concourse of PNC Arena, allowing other fans to sign a message to Pacioretty.
The clip above shows both the fan who organized the effort, and the flag itself.
The fan is now making an effort to make sure Pacioretty receives the flag, and to feel the well wishes of Canes fans.
Pacioretty was recovering from an Achilles injury during the beginning of the season, and only made his Hurricanes debut on January 5th against the Nashville Predators. He only managed to play 5 games, scoring 3 goals, before his Achilles was re-injured, causing him to miss the rest of the season.
Pacioretty has already shared how much he's enjoyed being in Carolina and this incredible gesture might just be enough to convince the pending free agent to stick around for a couple more years.
