Chicago Blackhawks and Philadelphia Flyers complete a trade
The Chicago Blackhawks and Philadelphia Flyers have come to terms to give two 23-year-old prospects a fresh start. Yesterday the two teams announced that they'd swapped young prospects.
The Flyers announced the following via their Twitter account.
TRADE ALERT: We have acquired forward Evan Barratt from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for defenseman Cooper Zech.
Barratt was drafted in the 3rd round by the Hawks in 2017, while Zech was an undrafted free agent signing. Neither player has managed to make their NHL debut at this time. This deal likely just fills organizational needs for both teams at the minor league levels, as it's unlikely either ever plays a large role in the NHL.
