Gemel Smith attacks Toronto Marlies player while he's on the bench
Gemel Smith is usually calm, cool and collected. In his 9 career seasons in the AHL he's only collected 6 career fighting majors. That's why it surprised so many people when tonight Smith completely lost his cool.
As Adam Gaudette skates towards the Marlies bench he's followed by Smith. The two players exchange some stick work back and forth. But when Gaudette steps into the Marlies bench, Smith drops his gloves and nails Gaudette with a hard right hand.
Gaudette quickly realized that Smith wouldn't let up and dropped his own gloves. Smith received a double minor for roughing while Gaudette received 2 minutes of his own.
