Chicago Blackhawks considering former Stanley Cup Champion as new voice of the Hawks

The Chicago Blackhawks are going through major changes as an organization. These changes are carrying over to the booth, as long term TV color analyst Eddie Olczyk officially joined the Seattle Kraken's broadcast team. According to Jeff Agrest of the Chicago Sun-Times, the Blackhawks are pursuing former fan favorite Patrick Sharp to fill the position.


After Sharp retired from pro hockey, he joined NBC Sports Chicago as a studio analyst in 2018. He eventually parlayed that venture into the same role on NBC's national broadcast team before joining TNT's studio crew. The three-time Stanley Cup champion also filled in on select Blackhawks broadcasts in the booth and between the glass.
Sharp was a popular figure during his eleven seasons in the Windy City. He was part of he 2010, 2013, and 2015 Stanley Cup winning teams.
Whoever lands the role with have some big shoes to fill. Olczyk was part of some big calls during 16 years at the microphone.
