Columbus Blue Jackets release a veteran from his professional tryout
Another day and another veteran player has been released from their professional tryout. Victor Rask has had a rough time in the NHL trying to find a home, as his last two seasons, he finished with the Minnesota Wild and Seattle Kraken.
Rask had a disappointing slide in production before Minnesota decided to move him to Seattle in 2021-2022.
SEATTLE, Wash. - March 21, 2022 - Today, the Seattle Kraken (@SeattleKraken) announced that they have acquired forward Victor Rask from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for future considerations. Minnesota will retain 50 percent of Rask's contract, and he will report to Charlotte (AHL).
His last year in the Wild organization was split between Minnesota and Iowa, playing 29 NHL games in the NHL and finishing the season in Seattle with 18 games played, putting up 21 points total.
In the latest move, the Columbus Blue Jackets released Rask from his PTO, as he put up only an assist in 16 minutes of time on ice a night, playing 3 games total with the franchise in the pre-season.
Rask's NHL totals equal 506 NHL games and he has 89 goals and 139 assists,
The Center was a Carolina Hurricanes draft pick in 2011 and spend the majority of his 8-year NHL career there.
