Connor McDavid is currently the best offensive player in the NHL and it's no longer a debate. The 25 year-old has accumulated a mass of highlight reel goals over his short career but none have made a Norris Trophy defensemen look this heavy footed.
The Edmonton Oilers went up against the Tampa Bay Lightning and they have one of the best defensemen in the league in Victor Hedman. Hedman is a former Norris Trophy and Conn Smythe winner and seen as one of the best defensemen in the world. Saturday night Connor McDavid made Victor Hedman look like a rookie in his first NHL game.
In the first period McDavid used his world class speed and froze Hedman at the blue line to open the scoring.
Hedman is going to have nightmares about that one.
