Dallas Stars make veteran forwards New Year's special, sign him to contract extension
Reports are saying that the Dallas Stars and forward Joe Pavelski have agreed on a one-year contract extension with a $3.5 million AVV with the potential to add another $2M in performance bonuses.
This is a great signing for the Stars. They are getting amazing value for an almost point per game player. Dallas has one of the best lines in hockey currently with Pavelski, Roope Hintz and young phenom Jason Robertson. The Stars lead the Central division with a record of 23-9-6.
Pavelski has really found a home since leaving San Jose. In 243 regular season games he has scored 78 goals and 200 points. With their first line buzzing and paid like stars Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin having bounce back seasons, the Stars have been great so far. The forward group is solid, defense is good and young netminder Jake Oettinger is one of the best in the world. The Stanley Cup going to Dallas in June could be a real possibility.
