Referees eject Team Canada forward for 'kneeing', did they finally get it right?
Team Canada defeated Team Sweden by a score of 5-1 on New Year's Eve. The win ensures the Canadians avoid a quarter finals matchup against Team USA. Instead Canada will face off against Team Slovakia tonight.
Canada could be without forward Zack Ostapchuk after he was ejected during last night's game for kneeing. Ostapchuk is a 2nd round draft pick of the Ottawa Senators, selected 39th overall in 2021. On the play Ostapchuk lee with his knee into a collision with San Jose Sharks prospect Filip Bystedt.
After review the officials on the ice decided this with worthy of a 5 minute major and a game misconduct. Do you think this was the right call? Fans appear to be split 50/50 on this. Hit on whether an ejection was deserved or not.
