The Montreal Canadiens originally acquired Jake Allen from the St. Louis Blues so it makes sense that they would attempt to get another goalie from there.
Ville Husso and
Jordan Binnington shared the net last year in St. Louis. Husso currently makes $750 thousand so he will be looking for a raise this offseason as a pending unrestricted free agent. Jordan Binnington did not play well this past season but is still signed for 5 more years at $6 million per season. So the Blues are at a crossroads with their goaltending as well.
