It has been no secret that inflation has been outrageous this past year. Prices of everything have skyrocketed across all sectors. However the Edmonton Oilers are wasting no time passing on the costs to their fans and then some.
Ahead of the Oilers' season opener on Wednesday night, pictures were circulating online of the new concession prices at Rogers Place. Fans were immidetaialy shocked at the sticker price at some of the most basic food. A cheeseburger will cost fans $14.25 each. That does not include fries and a drink. If you would like to purchase a cheeseburger and fountain drink together, that will cost a whopping $22.00.
One of the more outrageous items on the menu is the "Combo #2" where you can purchase two cheeseburgers, two drinks and two bags of chips for $55.00. That means each bag of chips in the combo cost $5.50 each.
We all know businesses try to make money and gouge customers when they can but this is ridiculous. Ticket prices to see an NHL game are already too expensive for most fans. Now in some arenas the food is so expensive people won't even be able to afford to eat at a game, let alone attend one.
