Edmonton Oilers fans make the trip to Florida to troll Matthew Tkachuk with a homemade sign
The feud between Matthew Tkachuk and the Edmonton Oilers was well documented. Tkachuk was always viewed as public enemy number one in Edmonton. The rivalry was so heated that even before his passing young Ben Stelter was actually upset Tkachuk had wished him well during his battle of cancer.
Over the summer Tkachuk was traded to the Florida Panthers. Upon his trade Tkachuk made it clear that he hated the Oilers, but stated he now hated the Lightning even more. While it seems Tkachuk has moved on a group of Oilers fans clearly haven't.
With the Oilers on the road in Sunrise, some Oilers fans made the trip to Florida to ensure Tkachuk hadn't forgotten about them. Those fans were captured with their sign during warmups trolling Tkachuk.
It's great to see this sort of pettiness alive and well in the NHL especially as the league looks to strip so much passion from the game.
