Edmonton Oilers prospect suspended for 10 games after breaking another player's leg
The Edmonton Oilers drafted Maxim Denezhkin in the 7th round of the 2019 NHL Draft. Denezhkin has yet to make the transition to North America and is currently playing in the VHL. The 5'9 forward is still considered a longshot to ever make it to the NHL.
During a game this week Denezhkin collided with Yevgeni Bodrov sending him hard into the end boards. On the play Bodrov appears to be shoved from behind by Denezhkin. The shove sends Bodrov crashing hard into the end boards breaking his leg.
Denezhkin initially recieved a 3 game suspension for the hit, but after a review of the significance of an injury the competition committee added 7 games to the suspension. Bringing the total suspension length to 10 games.
