Today the Edmonton Oilers and their fan base received some terrible news. Mike Stelter announced the passing of his son, and NHL Superfan, Ben. The Oilers has made Ben an honourary member of the team over the past season, even making arrangements for him to attend away playoff games.
Ben tugged at everyone's heart strings this season as the Edmonton Oilers introduced Ben to the world. Ben was just a sweet 6-year-old who loved hockey. Unfortunately Ben was diagnosed with brain cancer that ultimately took his life way too soon.
During the season Oiler's Captain, Connor McDavid developed a strong bond with Ben. Connor got Ben on the ice to live his dream of being an Edmonton Oiler.
Tonight the Edmonton Oilers paid their respects to Ben with this incredible Instagram video.
Ben will live on in the hearts of us forever. To the Stelter Family, we're sorry for you loss. Ben was truly one special little guy may he rest in peace...
