Evander Kane calls out the NHL for promoting the wrong players as the face of the league
Evander Kane wants a little more personality representing the National Hockey League. The Edmonton Oilers left winger who has a history of not being shy when it comes to how he lives his lifestyle was quoted as saying:
«You look at many of the players the NHL tries to promote and use as faces of the league, they are some of the quietest, reserved people.»
Kane, who has been part of the league since being drafted fourth overall in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the now defunct Atlanta Thrashers has posted photos of himself holding stacks of cash up to his ear akin to a cell phone, been accused by his ex-wife of being an abusive husband and void of his child's life and started his own fashion brand. He was also caught trying to pass a faulty vaccine passport during a period of time where vaccines were mandatory to play in the NHL.
Kane most recently befriended eight-year-old Cecily Eklund while in the press box. Cecily who was diagnosed with brain cancer at age six has raised more than $86,000 for charity and hopes to raise another $10,000 before her tenth birthday in March.
Kane was gracious enough to donate to Cecily's newest fundraiser for the Ben Stelter Fund.
