Evander Kane issues statement on his health and hockey future
Last night in Tampa Bay, Evander Kane suffered one of the scariest injuries for a hockey player. Early in the second period Pat Maroon's skate caught Evander Kane's wrist, slicing it wife open. A pool of blood was immediately evident on the ice as Kane hurried to the bench.
Last night the Oilers released a statement about Kane requiring immediate surgery, which Kane underwent last night. Now Kane has taken to social media to update fans about his condition.
Thank you all for the kind wishes and prayers from over the past several hours. Obviously last night was an extremely scary moment for me and I'm still in a little bit of shock. would like to thank the entire training staff of the Edmonton Oilers Tampa Bay Lighting, along with all the doctors and paramedics who rushed to help treat and repair my injury. Without all of you know things would've been much worse and I'm sincerely grateful. I won't be back next game, but I will be back and look forward to being back on the ice playing the game love alongside my teammates in front of our great fans.

It's great to hear that Kane will be okay, although it's clear he has a lengthy rehab ahead of him, hopefully he makes a full recovery.
